Ray.

Freemantle is a good day out, very different culture from Perth itself. Ferry to Rottnest Island where you get around all day on bikes is worth another day. Caversham wildlife park is great if you like animals, can get up close and feed the kangeroos, wombats etc. Beaches are lovely but breezy especially in the afternoon. And if you get a chance go to the OPTUS arena, magnificent venue fir sport. Crown casino is worth a visit, its bug and has lits going on there. Every time i went for a piss it took me 25 minutes to find my mrs again.
Thats condensed version. Great place to visit imho. Contact Sven Roeder off of here,he'll tell you more than i can. Have fun.

Re: Is it snowing in Thundersley?
Flew back from Perth yesterday,35 degrees. Landed at Heathrow and it was a bit chilly but no big deal. Woke up in WOKINGHAM to about 5 inches of snow. At least this year, unlike last we didnt come home to frozen pipes and a house that felt like a crypt.

Re: Is it snowing in Thundersley?
Knowing WHO there will always be one clever bugger quote me on the 1985 as I assumed that being the coldest was the year he was talking about, can't remember what actual year he was talking about, he told me on around 1986, but just had a look and I think he was probably talking about 1979 which says 80 inches, just under 7ft, I suppose it looked 10ft in places.

Good to see you posting Def, I hope that back of yours is still holding up.

This Chicago weather reminded me of my late father in law, who stayed with relations in Chicago one Xmas, new year in 85, which was a record -27, was always an early riser, went to open the front door in the morning and the doorway was blocked completely, you couldn't see out, the snow covered above the height of the doorframe. He dug his way out to the street and said that you couldn't see any cars all the cars roofs were buried beneath the snow. Said he had never seen anything like it. 10ft of snow he said.

Re: Is it snowing in Thundersley?
simon.s 12:06 - Really? Damn! This was taken from a plane as well.
I flew out of Chicago last year after storm chasing but that was in June.

Snow is a fucking difficult thing to predict, 1% either way and it happens or doesn't.
The dew points were close to 0C so that's why it rained in places and snow in others.

Theres been cracking aurora tonight as well in Scotland, Not as good as Iceland but good for here.
